Oct 24, 2015 - Ivory bracelet, 16th Century - Owo, Nigeria - Yoruba - made from one piece of ivory, with interlocking figures of a crocodile, a man (Obatala?) and perhaps a mudfish. Comments welcome. Detroit Institute of Art. It was formerly in the collection of Frits vanden Berghe, Gent Monsieur et Madame Muller van Isterbeek, Brussels and then was bought by Baron Frédéric Rolin, a Brussels dealer in tribal art.
